As promised here are all of the makeup items I took with me to New Orleans. There are tried and true favorites and a few new makeup products sure to become staples in my makeup bag!
THE BEST NEW MAKEUP & OLD FAVORITES
SIGMA FLAT KABUKI BRUSH // I use this to apply my foundation and I can’t explain all the technology so I’ll just copy and paste what Sigma has to say about it. LAURA MERCIER TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER // Praise the Lord for this setting powder from Laura Mercier. I wear the translucent shade and dust it over my forehead, chin and under eyes to help set makeup and reduce unwanted shine.
KAT VON D LOCK-IT SETTING POWDER // I feel bad saying this but I was hesitant to buy this because the whole ‘I tattoo people for a living’ look isn’t exactly what I’m going for on a day to day basis. But I will say that I am now a loyal fan and I love how this product sets in my under-eye area. It doesn’t cake and illuminates your under eye. I love it!
MILK MAKEUP BLUR STICK // I always use a primer before my foundation but primers typically have silicone in them which I don’t love. The silicone primers don’t apply as smoothly for me, can clog your pores and tend to ball up if you rub your skin which is just gross. This Milk Makeup Blur Stick minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines and gives you a smooth finish as it locks in your makeup.
MAKEUP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION in 125 // What is good enough for the Kardashians is good enough for me. I started wearing this because Kim did (obviously) and it’s my ultimate favorite!
TARTE SHAPE TAPE CONCEALER IN LIGHT // Hands down the best concealer. A little tiny bit goes a VERY long way and make sure to use a Beauty Blender for a more natural finish.
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS BROW WIZ // This is pricey but it’s worth it. I love the taupe color and it’s what I wear every day.
MAYBELLINE UNSTOPPABLE EYELINER in espresso // This drugstore eyeliner is amazing! It glides on smooth, doesn’t run and has the prettiest hue.
iT COSMETICS SUPERHERO MASCARA // I bought this to see if it would live up to the hype and yes, yes it does. It is probably the most effective mascara I have ever used. It makes your lashes thicker and longer without clumping or flaking. This fits into my #BuyItAndThankMeLater category.
TARTE IN BLOOM EYESHADOW PALETTE // This is my favorite eye shadow palette and I think I’m going to buy it again once I run out. I try a lot of new eye shadows in my quest to be a youtube superstar (jokes) but I keep coming back to this one! The shades are beautiful, the pigment is stellar and I love how easy it is to use because all of the colors mix and match.
BENEFIT HOOLA MATTE BRONZER // Cameran Wimberly is one of my favorite instagramers and she posted about this one. Her glow looks pretty and our coloring is similar so I bought it. And I love it.
BECCA BLUSH in Flowerchild // This is my current favorite blush and I think I (gasp) even like it more than my favorite Nars blush.
BECCA HIGHLIGHTER in Champagne Pop // As noted in this post, this is my favorite highlighter because I think it pulls of that subtle highlighter look but still actually looks like you’re wearing a highlighter. I like makeup that looks natural but I still want to look like I’m wearing makeup. Too many highlighters either make me look like Kesha or I have to use a headlight from a car to even see a sheen. This highlighter is a perfect balance and has beautiful golden tones that match a ton of complexions. It does what any highlighter should, successfully makes your skin look like it’s really dewy and reflecting light.
LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICK IN AMETHYST // I bought this last weekend and am in love!!! I used it as a liner and as a shadow. I’m filming a tutorial today during nap time to show you how to use it so make sure to visit my instagram account.
BARE MINERALS GEN NUDE LIPGLOSS in Forbidden // Another lipgloss worth the investment. I absolutely love the color ‘snarky’ and wear it on the daily. This lipgloss is rich and creamy without being thick and sticky. It?s so smooth and the pigment is on point!
