My Summer-to-Fall Athleisure Wardrobe

Sponsored by Backcountry and ShopStyle

It’s here, it’s here! The girls start back to school, and I start back to regular morning workouts. Except for the current plot twist: I’m taking it easy to recuperate from a knee injury which is the result of specifically NOT taking it easy for my entire adolescent life.

On the low-intensity exercise agenda? Yoga, biking, and walks with Charlie. After a hectic home departure, it feels so good to clear my mind and move my body in the fresh air. We might be hobbling over here, but sometimes the less pressure you put on a fitness routine, the more consistent (and enjoyable) it becomes. That’ what I’m telling myself, anyway. And you better believe I want to look cute while breaking a sweat.

Athleisure Outfits For the Win

Enter athleisure outfits that can go straight from school drop off to the trails, and then on to errands or remote work, followed by fun afternoon activities with the girls. Last week I planned to go workout and then get some work done while our sitter watched the girls. It was the last week of summer and they wanted to go to the orchard, so I called off the sitter, postponed some work, and off we went. We were the first ones there and the hills were covered in a cloudy, misty rain which quickly turned into a smoldering early morning sweat session. Here is a peek into our morning and the layers that I wore.

In addition to my new tennis shoes and comfortable leggings, I’m sharing plenty of functional athleisure wardrobe staples for everyday activities, whether you’re climbing the hills at an orchard or chasing your children around the park. Never-fail bras, shoes you won’t want to take off, and layering options for outfits that transition perfectly from summer to fall.
