6 Makeup Items I Travel With

Hello hello!!! This week I returned from Sephoria and have quite a few new products to share with you! I’ll be getting to a full roundup of all the tips and tricks I picked up at Sephora’s first conference but for now here are 6 beauty items always in my travel bag plus a few bonus skincare favorites! If you’re new to the blog, each month I share the makeup items I’m loving in a “what’s in my beauty bag” series and I have a HUGE haul coming to the blog next week for my October post. For now, read about these 6 items I brought to the conference and why they are some of my favorites.

Sephora Makeup Favorites

URBAN DECAY SETTING SPRAY / TARTE HYDRATING FOUNDATION / CHARLOTTE TILBURY BLUSH / CHARLOTTE TILBURY POWDER / ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS BROW WIZ / YSL LIPSTICK in 218

I typically try to travel with a small collection of beauty favorites but for Sephora’s first ever beauty conference I brought the entire caboodle. I will be sharing an extensive beauty haul of all the new products I discovered but for now here are a look a 6 of my top items that I take when I travel.

URBAN DECAY SETTING SPRAY – This is a cherry scented version of my favorite setting spray. I use it after I’ve applied my makeup but before I put on my mascara. Typically I don’t love the smell of artificial cherries but this scent is light and sweet & not at all overpowering.

TARTE HYDRATING FOUNDATION – The ONLY thing I don’t love about this foundation is the applicator. It’s a wand that you brush on your face which I find a little difficult. I will happily look over that tiny inconvenience for this buildable, gel foundation with a luminous finish. This oil-free foundation has collagen & hyaluronic acid that work to hydrate, plump skin & refine pores. I think it gives you a lightweight, airbrushed finish that doesn’t cake or crease.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY BLUSH – Here is what you need to know. Charlotte Tilbury is the queen. She is so freaking smart and talented and I truly would buy anything she sells. Just think about her line for a second. She has personally been a makeup artist to celebrities and supermodels for decades and took all of that knowledge and learning and created her own line. Her products are not only beautiful but are also great for your skin because she believes that if you have a beautiful canvas then you will have a beautiful painting. Ok I’m going to stop myself and dedicate an entire post to CT but for now just know that this blush is great! The center color is applied to the apples of your cheeks and the outside color is used on your cheekbones for a pretty glow. I wear the color, “love glow”.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY POWDER – This ultra-fine, paraben-free setting powder blurs imperfections and reduces shine. It’s made with rose wax and almond oil that hydrate the skin and enable the powder to blend flawlessly. The light-reflecting ingredients diffuse light and help your complexion look dewy and luminous. I wear the shade, “medium”.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS BROW WIZ – My ride or die brow pencil. It’s expensive but worth it. I have my eyebrows microbladed and I love them but I like to thicken them up a little and this pencil is the most natural looking product on the market. I wear the color “taupe”.

YSL LIPSTICK in 218 – This lipstick is a matte and I am not a matte girl but it’s so creamy and smooth and the perfect base for my favorite NYX lipgloss in “Creme Brûlée.”

Love it all. Do you use a brush to apply to foundation? I have that one also and I find the wand awkward.

    • I do! I sigma foundation brush. You can use your hands too just make sure they are clean and don’t pull on your under eye too much! I will use a beauty blender for time to time depending on the foundation but brush works for all!

I’ve never purchased any Charlotte Tilbury products, but now I’ll definitely be giving them a try. I’d love to read more about her products!
