One of the questions I am asked the most frequently is what would I pick if I just had to select just one item per makeup product. Today, I’m making myself choose favorites and sharing a complete summer makeup look in partnership with Nordstrom. I’m also giving you a peek at a recent Nordstrom haul including two new skincare items I am testing, several primers I purchased to try and my favorite sunscreens, sunless tanners and body lotions from Nordstrom.
My favorite thing about shopping at Nordstrom for beauty items is that you can get makeup, skincare, hair care, luxury items, tools and more in one place. I also love their free shipping and returns since I don’t leave near a storefront. And I have said this before, but I think they carry the best all-around selection of beauty products when you factor in natural beauty, impressive selection of beauty tools, and all-around expansive product selection.
Here are just a few of the beauty items that I am currently testing, trying, and loving from Nordstrom.
Luxury Beauty Products
AUGUSTINUS BADER The Cream // I have been eyeing this face cream for the longest time and finally purchased it to test out. In the skincare world, this brand, and especially “The Cream†has quite the reputation and following. This product claims to stimulate the skin’s natural process of rejuvenation with aloe vera, antioxidants, amino acids and vitamins A, B, C and E. It also contains retinol that helps smooth and refine the skin’s surface. The price tag is steep so I am very interested to see how my skin reacts to it. I’ve only been using it for a week and while I definitely feel hydrated, and haven’t noticed any negatives, I cannot wait to see if my skin improves after several weeks of use.
VINTNER’S DAUGHTER Active Botanical Serum // Another product on my “to-try†wish list has been this active botanical serum by VITNER’S DAUGHTER. It is a luxurious face oil formulated with 22 of the world’s most nutrient-rich botancials. 5-6 drops of to your face and your skin gets a proprietary blend of hytoceramides and phytonutrients, balancing minerals, vitamins, free-radical fighting antioxidants, moisturizing fatty acids and nourishing Omegas- 3, 6, 7 and 9 to revitalize, soothe and support a healthy radiance. It contains alfalfa, calendula, grapeseed and dandelion help soothe, calm and alleviate the effects of stress on the skin from environmental factors, flare-ups or general irritation while nettle, lavender, carrot seed and lemon support healthy cellular renewal to revitalize and brighten skin. Essentially this product is like a superfood smoothie for your face and works to balance, tone, diminish blemishes and dehydration and support your skin’s natural defenses.

In the summer, I like to sunscreen on at all times and frequently use self-tanners and tanning lotions to even out my skin. Here are a few of my favorites summer finds for the body.
Body Blur Instant HD Skin Finish // The best body lotion for a subtle color!
Supergoop! Glowscreen Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 40 // I think this is a great sunscreen for your face and chest.
COOLA Broad Spectrum SPF 30 // This is my favorite spray sunscreen.
COOLA After-Sun Lotion // If you are out in the sun, use this after you shower!
St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse // If you want a faux tan, this is my favorite mousse. It is easy to apply and won’t leave streaks!

I just bought the Trish McEvoy Eye Base and Under Eye Instant Eye Lift. They are amazing! With these two new products in my routine I got so many compliments on my makeup. I wear the Eye Base alone for a natural makeup look.
