The Best tarte Concealers for Every Under-Eye Concern

Sponsored by tarte Cosmetics and ShopStyle. All opinions and product recommendations are my own.

Today is the launch of tarte‘s new shape tape ultra-creamy concealer! This product combines the coverage and wearability of the original shape tape  and combines it with hyaluronic acid, antioxidant-rich prickly pear, ginseng and vegan squalane to lock in moisture, help restore elasticity & promote firmness. I was able to get my hands on it pre-launch and have worn it each day since it arrived to test it out. On the first day I compared it side by side to the shape tape concealer and each day after that I wore it both with and without eye primer and with and without eye moisturizer. Today I’m excited to share with you all my findings!

Before we get into the product comparison, I wanted to remind you that you can use my promo code, CristinCooper15, for 15% off on tarte‘s website. In celebration of their new concealer launch, tarte is also offering the following bundles that you might like!

tarte Concealers for Every Under-Eye Concern

The tarte website has a page dedicated to finding the right concealer for your skintype. I have listed out my four favorite tarte concealers  below and why I would recommend them but I would highly suggest checking out this page as well!

My Top 4 Concealers

shape tape ultra-creamy concealer // This is officially my favorite of  tarte‘s concealers. I have worn shape tape for years. If you have followed along then you know I always suggest wearing a moisturizer and an under-eye primer beneath shape tape if you have under-eyes that are prone to dryness like mine. I found that with this new shape tape ultra-creamy concealer, I didn’t have to wear either! I still recommend an under-eye cream as a part of your skincare routine, but I think that this product is hydrating enough to be worn solo if you chose. If you have dry under-eyes or are a fan of the least amount of products as possible and still want a full-coverage concealer, then absolutely get this! With a built-in eye cream, it adds hydration for 24 hours so skin looks and feels moisturized. I also love that tarte is a brand formulated with high-performance naturalsâ„¢ and I feel good about applying it directly to my skin.

shape tape concealer // Anything with a moisturizer built-in, like shape tape ultra-creamy concealer, is not going to “stick” to your skin (for lack of a better term) as well as the matte version of the same product. Some people might find shape tape concealer to be drying but nobody can deny its coverage. If you are more prone to oily skin and are looking for maximum coverage, I would recommend the original shape tape as it smooths, brightens and blurs the appearance of find likes for up to 16 hours of flawless wear.

Hydrocealer Concealer // Hydrocealer is considered the tinted moisturizer of concealersâ„¢, formulated with hydroflex technologyâ„¢ that moves with your skin. It’s nourishing, conceals redness excellently and does a good job of coverage for dark circles. With a light to medium buildable coverage, this will be a lightweight no-makeup look as compared to the shape tape concealers above. It’s also made with caffeine to reduce inflammation & puffiness while smoothing, tightening & brightening.

Shape Tapeâ„¢ Glow Wand // I really love this tarte concealer and right now you can get it along with one of the shape tape concealers in this Shape tape hydrate & glow bundle or this Shape tape star duo bundle. This product is great because it has liquid brighteners that will highlight your skin without glitter or shimmer. It delivers a soft-focus finish that leaves you looking dewy and fresh-faced. You can also use it to highlight your cheekbones and brow bones, not just on your under-eye area.

So excited to see this post today because I ordered two different shades of this creamy shape tape travel size yesterday! Cannot wait to try it especially since you have added your seal of approval! What shade are you wearing? I think once I figure out exactly which color is the best, I’m getting the duo with the Glow Wand.

  2. Debbie says:

I like Shape Tape but super excited to try the creamy version.

  3. Kristin says:

I love shape tape but I’m trying to wear less makeup since I feel like everything dries me out. Might have to try this.

  4. Richelle says:

Curious if you have tried Tarte Creaseless Concealer? It also is a more hydrating formula, so I am very curious as to how the Ultra Creamy compares to the Creaseless Concealer (which I currently use). Is it worth the switch?

  5. TJ says:

I love your classic white shirt! Could you provide a link?

Hi Cristin… what about aging skin and under eye wrinkles? How is this new concealer as far as that stuff goes? I’m using the regular Shape Tape now but am not a huge fan of the way it looks as far as the wrinkle thing goes. Got any recs for something better? I know you don’t have that issue yet but I thought you might have some good insight. Thanks! Susan Harper
