Hi friends! So if you have been following along with this blog for any amount of time you’re aware of my clean eating kick. While I admittedly go through cycles of very cleaning eating for weeks at a time one thing that stays a constant is my new found love for black coffee. Straight up. No sweeteners, no milk, just good ole fashioned tasty caffeine. Starting to drink my coffee black was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It wasn’t easy at first to kick the creamer but now I genuinely love it and feel way better about myself as I enjoy all the livelong day. During one of my recent beauty raids at Walgreens I stumbled across these Starbucks® Bottled Iced Coffee drinks and picked one up to try.
Now I grab one every time I’m on the go or during any of my frequent visits to Walgreens. Before I go any further I want to be upfront with you all (as I always am). When it comes to working with brands I am very selective and only pair up with brands whose products I truly love. So, when I was asked to participate in the #StarbucksOnTheGo campaign, sponsored by Starbucks® Bottled Iced Coffee at Walgreens, I jumped at the chance. That is what you call a win, win. And although I have been compensated, as always all opinions are my own. Read on for how I keep my sanity juggling being a wife, mom & having two jobs + my favorite workout gear!
Let’s talk about why I love these drinks so much. One of the things that has helped me stay sane while working, blogging, raising babies and trying to feel like my pre-baby self again has been to get moving first thing in the morning and get moving in the evening. In the mornings, this looks like a little “me time” in the gym. I’m absolutely the furthest thing from a morning person that you will ever find so I grab one of these Starbucks® Bottled Iced Coffee drinks on my way to the gym. Long gone are the days of firing up the espresso machine when you’re tip-toeing around the house trying not to wake the mini sleeping beasts upstairs (aka my 3 year old and 20 month old) so it’s great to have a drink I can grab and hop in the car with. With a little coffee in my veins I am unstoppable in the am and it all in all is just a better way to start my day. Two other helpful things I do are to keep my phone beside my sink in the bathroom. This way when it goes off at the crack of dawn I can quickly wash my face and get moving. I also lay out my workout gear in the bathroom which is great because I can close the door, turn on the lights and get dressed quickly. I absolutely positively love these leggings. If you follow me you have seen me post about them before. They are super high waisted with a delicate drawstring to keep them in place. I love to wear them with a workout tank and jacket and if I’m being honest I live in this outfit right here 60% of my life.
After I’ve survived the gym, getting the girls to school, and working then I have to tackle the witching hour. If you don’t have kids, the witching hour is that time right after dinner and right before bed when your little ones turn into tornadoes, monsters or break out in civil war. The only way we survive the witching hour is to get outside. Getting outside lets my kids run off energy. I love being outside because it helps me unwind from work and recharge before I put them to bed and get ready for all of the adulting of nighttime. I think one reason the witching hour is so rough is because generally it’s the time in the day when I’m starting to feel a little pooped and just need a good pick-me-up. Luckily I’m one of the chose few that can drink coffee right up until bedtime and sleep great so I grab a Starbucks® Bottled Iced Coffee and put it in the stroller, drink it on the way to the park or sit outside and enjoy while I watch my girls draw chalk. Instant mood booster.
Starbucks® Bottled Iced Coffee is a medium roast, Latin American blend that comes in an unsweetened and a sweetened version. I love the unsweetened but I tasted the sweetened and it’s delicious as well. The coffee is rich, smooth and how easy is it to just grab a coffee when you pop in to buy a new lipgloss? Seriously these things are life savers and I really think you will love them!
