I honestly can’t think of a better way to enjoy a gorgeous summer evening than a picnic! No elaborate menu or table setting, just a cozy blanket and ensemble of whatever you’ve got in the fridge. The girls love to build their own snack boards with deli meat sandwiches, cheese and crackers, garden veggies and dip. Our family’s favorite pasta salad, fruit salad, and cowboy caviar with chips are other easy, crowd-pleasing options.
These photos are from a recent trip where we attempted a spontaneous dinner on the beach. The view was beautiful, but the wind and sand didn’t cooperate, so we headed to the front porch to devour appetizers, pizza and dessert. This was our girls’ favorite night by far, and all it took was eating outdoors. A little change of scenery does wonders!
