Where to Find Large Neutral Area Rugs

I know this is a shock if you follow my home account but like all big design components, I want my area rugs to be neutral. I once bought a beautiful Pottery Barn rug for my dining room that was full of earthy tones and while I loved it for a season, I soon grew tired of it. Since area rugs are such an investment I think the smart play is to go neutral and then bring in your color with layering or smaller accent rugs and textiles.

Rugs can be an absolute ripoff in general but once you get into large or oversized area rugs then you really better hang on tight. Moving from an 8×10 to a 10×14 can easily cost you several thousand dollars. I love the look of a large natural fiber rug with a smaller vintage rug layered over it but for our living room I really just want one, big, neutral, vintage looking rug. Is that so hard?!? Well, it turns out it is. As I’ve searched and searched for a large, neutral area rug here are the best ones I’ve come across that won’t absolutely break the bank. I haven’t quite decided on which one to use but this is were I’m headed!
