Makeup

CHARLOTTE TILBURY DARLING EYESHADOW PALETTE

What It Is: A compact eyeshadow palette with six shades ranging from bronze and pink to terracotta and brown. This palette, which I’m wearing in today’s post, features six of Charlotte’s favorite shades for a glowy eye. You can create endless eye combinations from colors including a gold-champagne, a peachy-rose, a muted peach, a rosy copper, a warm terracotta and a deep chocolate brown. The palette is broken down into two looks, each containing three steps: first you prime and apply the shade all over the eyelid, next you blend the enhance shade across the lid (I focus on the area from the inside of the pupil to the outside of the lid) and lastly you finish with the smoke shade and blend into the crease line!

My Review: I have been using this palette since its debut in November of last year! If you are a frequent reader here then you know my love of Charlotte Tilbury runs deep. This eye shadow has the best pigment and I love that it has three simple to follow steps of “prime”, “enhance” and “smoke”. You are getting two makeup looks in one, the lighter on the left and the darker on the right, but you really have an endless combination since all of the colors work well together. This is my absolute go-to when traveling and I wear it non-stop at home, too!

YVES SAINT LAURENT ROUGE PUR COUTURE LIPSTICK

What it is: A creamy lipstick with bold color that hydrates your lips with a weightless finish. I am wearing color 70 Le Nu.

My Review: This is one of my favorite lipstick colors and one of the only lipsticks I have purchased repeatedly.

NARS AFTERGLOW EYESHADOW PALETTE

What it is: A limited-edition eyeshadow palette with 12 shades in a range of finishes from matte to satin, shimmer and metallic.

My Review: If you love a girly or edgy eye then this palette is a great buy! I love the pretty pink and rose gold hues and you can take it up a notch with the metallic golds. I’ve been playing around with my favorite combinations and will post a tutorial on Instagram soon!

Prime, Prep, Conceal & Set

HOURGLASS VANISHâ„¢ AIRBRUSH CONCEALER

What It Is: A full-coverage, weightless, waterproof concealer with a natural finish that containing tiny powders that blur and brighten for up to 16 hours! This crease-resistant liquid concealer reflects light and blends seamlessly into skin, diffusing the look of pores and fine lines. It also has a highly pigmented formula that evens skin tone and diminishes the appearance of imperfections, leaving you with a natural, airbrushed finish.

My Review: If you have ever looked for a full-coverage concealer that won’t dry you out or settle into fine lines, THIS IS IT. I have worn this every day since I purchased it over three weeks ago. It glides on so smooth and has the prettiest, most natural coverage of a full-coverage concealer that I have ever seen. I wear color “silk” which is a little brighter than my skin tone and I apply with a damp beauty blender. If I have time, I will use this Becca primer under it and set with this Becca powder but I have also applied with my fingers and not used a setting powder at all. It looks great both ways, but I do think the primer + setting powder help for it to last even longer!

BECCA ANTI-FATIGUE UNDER EYE PRIMER

What It Is: A anti-fatigue eye balm and primer in one that cools on contact and preps skin for smooth makeup application. Cucumber, matcha green tea and caffeine help this balm smooth your skin, decrease puffiness and blur the look of fine lines.

My Review: If you have a problem with your concealer caking, running or just not staying on for very long then you need this primer! It will help your concealer go on smoother and stay on longer as it hydrates and de-puffs your skin. What more could you want?!?!

BECCA SKIN LOVE GLOW SHIELD PRIME & SET MIST

What it is: A spray on mist that primes, sets and refreshes. Applied before makeup for hydration or after makeup to improve wear, this gently spray is made of sea water, spring water, Goji Berry, Blueberry Extract, Cranberry Extract and Vitamin E for a good for you glow.

My Review: Truth be told, this is 100% an added step. However, I happen to LOVE a face spray after I apply makeup and to refresh my skin throughout the day. This one is weightless, hydrating and produces a soft glow.

BECCA SKIN LOVE BRIGHTEN & BLUR PRIMER

What it is: A primer full of antioxidants that smooths your skin, protects against pollution and supports hydration! It diffuses the look of pores and allows for a flawless makeup application.

My Review: I LOVE THIS PRIMER! It’s maybe the best, most weightless primer I have ever used and it leaves my makeup feeling so silky! I wear it under cc cream or foundation and find that it helps my makeup look fresh all day long!

BECCA UNDER EYE BRIGHTENING SETTING POWDER

What it is: A brightening setting powder that sets your concealer, allowing for maximum wear. It is infused with light-reflecting pearl powders that instantly blur fine lines!

My Review: I ran out of my last brightening setting powder and went into Sephora on a mission to find a new one. Since I’m having a major Becca moment, I naturally had to try this! I love the finish and the wearability and highly recommend it!

Skincare

WANDER BEAUTY BAGGAGE CLAIM ROSE GOLD EYE MASK

What it is: Eye masks that help brighten, hydrate and reduce the appearance of dark circles. The rose gold foil helps retain heat to prevent evaporation which allows the maximum amount of serum to sink into your skin. There is an elastic layer so they don’t slip or fall off of your face and then another layer is made of a cellulose fiber that delivers all off the good for you ingredients. Hyaluronic acid (my favorite) hydrates while aloe leaf extract and lavender oil cool & smooth your skin!

My Review: I listened to the founder of this brand on a podcast and will forevermore buy anything she creates. As a supermodel, entrepreneur and mom of two spending all of her time commuting, she created Wander Beauty to be a solution for high-quality beauty products when you are on the go. I get asked a ton what my favorite eye patches are and it is without a doubt a tie between these and these by Peter Thomas Roth.

TATCHA THE SERUM STICK

What It Is: This concentrated moisturizing treatment and touch-up balm is packed with 80% squalane, hyaluronic acid, and Japanese lemon balm to target dryness and signs of aging. The Japanese lemon balm helps with the appearances of lines, the Squalane supports the natural skin barrier and locks in moisture and then Tatcha’s signature ingredient, Hadaei-3, is like a superfood for your skin thanks to nourishing ingredients like green tea, rice & algae.

My Review: I used this stick on my under-eyes before my eye primer and gently patted it in with my ring finger. The only thing I don’t love is that it is in tube form meaning you really have to be careful not to stretch your delicate under-eyes. However, I will say that hours into my makeup and my under-eye area feels silky smooth. You can use this product anywhere on your face, under or over makeup, where you need added smoothness and moisture. I’m anxious to try it next time my skin is super dry!

BEAUTYBIO GLOPRO MICRONEEDLING FACIAL TOOL

What it is: An award-winning microneedling tool that increases your skincare absorption 200x.

My Review: I really like this tool! I’ve been using it all over my face before I put on my retinol in the evening. Occasionally if I miss an evening, I will use it in the am before my vitamin C. I have really been concentrating on my chin to see if it will help fade my scar and so far I am actually noticing a difference. My dark spots and red areas are diminishing more quickly thanks to this tool & my hydroquinone (lightening cream). I have also been using it on my belly and the backs of my thighs / tush before applying this cream.

NUFACE MINI FACIAL TONING DEVICE

What It is: An FDA-cleared facial toning device that uses microcurrent technology to improve facial contour and tone.

My Review: NuFace sent me this product almost two years ago and my largest regret in life was that I lost it there for about 6 months. It is crazy how regular use can improve the look and tone of your skin! Essentially it is like working out your face muscles. I use it when I’m brushing my teeth or setting out clothes, anything that I can do one handed. There are a bunch of highlights saved on my Instagram account where you can check it out!

DRUNK ELEPHANT SLAAIâ„¢ MAKEUP-MELTING BUTTER CLEANSER

What It Is: A cleansing balm that melts off all traces of dirt, makeup and sunscreen.

My Review: Any time I see the Allure Beauty seal of approval, I know it’s a must-buy. I’ve been using this to remove my makeup before I cleanse, what some refer to as “double cleansing”. It is so hydrating and I think you could 100% use it as a stand-alone cleanser. I’m double cleansing for the sake of making absolutely sure that my face is free of every single thing and to get the maximum benefit out of my brightening cleanser.

BIOSSANCE SQUALANE + MARINE ALGEA EYE CREAM

What It Is: A hydrating eye cream made with Marine Algae Complex that is said to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in as few as seven days. Paracress Extract lifts, smooths, and firms the look of skin, Marine Algae Complex reduces the appearance of fine lines, and Squalane locks in moisture.

My Review: I’m only on night three but this eye cream feels like butter and I’m looking forward to night seven. This might just be the end of my search for the perfect eye cream!

PEACE OUT MICRONEEDLING DARK SPOT BRIGHTENING DOTS

What It Is: Oil-free brightening dots that lighten the appearance of dark spots.

My Review: I love the Peace Out Acne Dots so much that I decided to give these a try. So far I cannot see any visible results but these things take time!! I’m going to give this one a 6-week trial on a dark spot I have on my cheek and then update you on the progress.

Hair

DRYBAR DOUBLESHOT BLOW-DRYER BRUSH

What It Is: A blow-dryer and hair brush in one! This oval brush uses Ionic Technology to seal the cuticle for less frizz. Unlike other blow-dryer brushes out there, it also evenly distributes the heat with strategically-places vents allowing for a smooth blowout with a ton of volume in less time. A combination of nylon and tufted bristles allow for the perfect amount of tension and control, without pulling your hair.

My Review: Ok this is amazing! I tried one of hair dryer brushes a long time ago and it got way too hot and my hair would snag. The Drybar Doubleshot is lightweight, it glided over my hair and it dried my hair in no-time. I typically let my hair dry to some degree and this worked like a charm!! I will continue to use it and report back on my Instagram channel but for now I’m giving it 5 stars.

LIVING PROOF RESTORE REPAIR MASK

What It Is: A silicone-free conditioning treatment to improve dry, damaged hair that is said to make your hair softer, shinier & smoother. You use this cream based formula after shampooing & conditioning & rinse out after 5 minutes. This product is suitable for all hair types and thicknesses and will protect you against damage, split ends and breakage

My Review: Full disclosure – I have only used this hair mask once due to the timing of this post. After one wash my hair was softer and felt shinier. A lot of you have asked about a hair mask and I would recommend this one. I don’t love hair masks that you put on outside of the shower but I’m all for wearing one while I shave my legs. The important thing to note is that while this did condition my hair, it didn’t weigh it down!
