Fall Makeup Favorites

Earlier this week I blogged about my current favorite skincare items and wanted to follow it up with the makeup I’ve been using lately. Some of these products are new loves and some of them are tried and true favorites. Read on and I’ll break down each one for you and tell you how I use it and why I love it. Also, I’m feeling brave again and think I might attempt a fall makeup tutorial to two. Would you please be so kind as to comment which product you want to see most?

Fall Beauty Favorites

BEAUTY BLENDER – G.O.A.T or for those of you that aren’t up with your acronyms…. GREATEST OF ALL TIME. I use to blend in my concealer and I think it helps it stay all the live long day. #PoetAndIKnowIt

Fall Beauty Favorites

MILK MAKEUP BLUR STICK – My friend Lindsey told me about this one and I have loved using it! I always use a primer before my foundation but primers typically have silicone in them which I don’t love. The silicone primers don’t apply as smoothly for me, can clog your pores and tend to ball up if you rub your skin which is just gross. This Milk Makeup Blur Stick minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines and gives you a smooth finish as it locks in your makeup.

Fall Beauty Favorites

URBAN DECAY EYESHADOW PALETTE – I recently started using this palette because I love the darker tones for fall. My favorite colors are ‘Bootycall’, ‘Tease’ and ‘Snakebike’.

Fall Beauty Favorites

TARTE NATURAL MASCARA – Hate me if you want but when it comes to beauty I’m way more “pass all the Asian creams with the chemicals” than “pass the plant-based stuff that doesn’t work worth a hoot’. I actually didn’t even know this was natural until I was making this post. I’m always skeptical something is truly “natural” and part of me wonders what exactly natural even means but I love how this makes my lashes look! It stays on all day and makes them very long and thick!

Fall Beauty Favorites

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS BROW WIZ – This is pricey but I’ve tried so many drugstore ones and at press time I think it’s worth it. I love the “taupe” color and it’s what I wear every day.

Fall Beauty Favorites

TARTEIST EYE LINER – I love this eyeliner and I wear it daily! I use the regular end for a day look and the liquid tip for when I need a more dramatic look. I’ve had it for a good while and it hasn’t run out. It also doesn’t smudge or run.

Fall Beauty Favorites

SIGMA BRUSH KIT – I didn’t really think that good brushes were worth it until I got my hands on these bad boys. Now I am on a mission to become a makeup brush expert. Stay tuned.

Fall Beauty Favorites

IT COSMETICS CC CREAM IN LIGHT – I wear this It Cosmetics CC Cream in Light every. single. day. It is miraculous! I love that you can apply it lightly or really cake it on for a lot of coverage. It doesn’t smell weird, doesn’t look heavy on and lasts a really long time.

Fall Beauty Favorites

TARTE SHAPE TAPE CONCEALER IN LIGHT – Hands down the best concealer. A little tiny bit goes a VERY long way and make sure to use a Beauty Blender for a more natural finish.

Fall Beauty Favorites

LAURA GELLER FOUNDATION – I know this is a foundation but I brush it over my face to help blend in my contouring and give my face a pretty glow.

Fall Beauty Favorites

TARTE PRO-TO-GO CONTOUR PALETTE – I’m in love with the Becca highlighter (see below) so I’ve only been using the contouring “chisel” color on this palette. However, if I travel I will take only this for all of my contouring and highlighting.

Fall Beauty Favorites

BECCA BLUSH in Flowerchild – This is my current favorite blush and I think I (gasp) even like it more than my favorite Nars blush.

Fall Beauty Favorites

CAUDALIE BEAUTY ELIXIR – Greatest. Of. All. Time. I would bathe in this stuff if I could. I have used it daily for what seems like forever to prep my skin, set my makeup and freshen up my complexion all day long. It brightens your appearance, tightens the appearance of pores and has an intoxicating smell.

Fall Beauty Favorites

NYX BUTTER GLOSS IN VANILLA CREAM PIE – This is HANDS DOWN the best lipgloss and it’s only $5. What more do you need to know?

Fall Beauty Favorites

KAT VON D LOCK-IT SETTING POWDER – I feel bad saying this but I was hesitant to buy this because the whole “I tattoo people for a living” look isn’t exactly what I’m going for on a day to day basis. But I will say that I am now a loyal fan and I love how this product sets in my under-eye area. It doesn’t cake and illuminates your under eye. I love it!

Fall Beauty Favorites

BECCA HIGHLIGHTER in ?Champagne Pop – As noted in this post, this is my favorite highlighter because I think it pulls of that subtle highlighter look but still actually looks like you’re wearing a highlighter. I like makeup that looks natural but I still want to look like I’m wearing makeup. Too many highlighters either make me look like Kesha or I have to use a headlight from a car to even see a sheen. This highlighter is a perfect balance and has beautiful golden tones that match a ton of complexions. It does what any highlighter should, successfully makes your skin look like it’s really dewy and reflecting light.

Fall Beauty Favorites

LAURA MERCIER EYESHADOW BASE – I use this before I put on my eyeshadow. It doesn’t matter if you use the drugstore dupe… you need to be using something below your eyeshadow to keep it in place! My favorite color is “linen”.

Fall Beauty Favorites

LAURA MERCIER TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER – Praise the Lord for this setting powder from Laura Mercier. I wear the translucent shade and dust it over my forehead, chin and under eyes to help set makeup and reduce unwanted shine.

Fall Beauty Favorites

BARE MINERALS LIPSTICK IN ‘HEAVEN’ – If I could only wear one lipstick for the rest of my life it would be this one in this color. The end.
