In celebration of today’s launch, I wanted to share a few of my easy hosting tips for summer get-togethers. But first, here is what I think you need to snag before it sells out. Don’t forget to use code CRISTIN for 10% off!
One of my favorite things about this group of items is how they mix and match with any color or style. You can pair our white melamine dishware with your favorite colorful block print tablecloth or a one-and-done disposable variety – no judgment here. I love how the large serving bowl makes a perfect salad dish, chip bowl, or countertop fruit holder & I have personally used the serving platter more times than I can count. You can never go wrong with rattan and these salt & pepper shakers are no exception. As you add to the cart make sure to remember that orders over $49 ship free!
Now that you have the tablescape & serving items, here are a few of my go-to tips to make summer entertaining relaxing, stress-free, with a little bit of fancy thrown in.
Easy Hosting Tips for Summer
One of the easiest no-fail lunches or dinners is a chicken salad board. Grab a round platter and line it with scoops of chicken salad, egg salad & pimento cheese. You can place a bowl in the center for crackers, pasta salad, or bread. I especially love to keep some Costco croissants on hand for a pretty meal in an instant.
Fruits & vegetables make for wonderful table decor like this large bowl of artichokes and mini bowls of fruit below. The oranges and blackberries are in our baking bowls.
I try to buy flowers whenever I’m out and about because I love having fresh blooms in the kitchen. If you need a centerpiece in a pinch just grab vases of varied heights and throw a bloom or two in each. You can also cut greenery or foliage from the yard. This is one of my favorite hacks because a couple of stems in different vases go a long way for visual interest. I love how these flowers from the grocery store look in our rattan vases!
Another great summer tip is to pre-freeze ice cubes with fruit to drop into lemonade or cocktails to make it look like you put in a lot of effort! We like to pour blackberries and strawberries with lemonade or citrus + mint with water. And the best part is kids usually love an activity like that! You can also slice oranges, lemons, and limes and freeze those to drop into drinks of the base of vases as well.
Tying napkins with string or twine is another tip that takes barely any time and can make a table look put together. (This is another great activity to get the kids to help with – bonus points if you sent them out into the yard to forage for stems and blooms to tuck into the tie. You can roll just the napkin or wrap utensils inside if you’re planning for a lot of guests or a buffet scenario.
All of these ideas take little to no time and can make a regular lunch feel a little bit magical and your guests feel extra special, even if your guests live under your roof & call you mom.
Here is some visual inspiration for your next get together. If you use any of these tips make sure to share and tag me on Instagram so I can see what you came up with!
