The Best Cropped Highrise Denim

Happy Monday! Does anyone else feel a little excitement in their bones that daylight savings is coming? When I left the gym this morning it was dawn and usually I’m driving home in the total darkness. It just put me in an excellent mood this Monday morning because daylight savings time means warmer weather, longer days and happier kids playing outside. (PRAISE). Before we dish all about this outfit I wanted to share a couple of things with you. First of all, I opened an Amazon Shop! Well it’s not technically a shop as you might think of it but rather a place where I can organize all of my favorite Amazon purchases for you all. I’m a part of their influencer program which gives me access to this tool and I think that it will be a big help to you guys when shopping my must-have Amazon buys. To get to it you can click this link or you can select “Shop” from my homepage and then “Amazon Favorites” like so:

In shopping news, BaubleBar is having their Friends & Family sale and you can save 25% off of nearly everything with code FF25. I wore these earrings the other night and love them because they aren’t too heavy. I also just bought this necklace! Here are a few more things that have caught my eye!

In fitness news I’m officially starting my second round of The Faster Way to Fat Loss today. I have kept up with the program since completing my first round but I also was in Hawaii for almost two weeks and wasn’t exactly super strict with it. The great thing about this program is that you have 6 week’s worth of workouts at your disposal and the nutrition that you learn can be implemented even on times where you aren’t hunkered down and dedicated to a fitness program. I honestly could just keep up this momentum and be happy with it but Zach and I are going on vacation in exactly 7 weeks so I’m excited to get my butt into gear and continue to tone some of those problem areas. The next round is starting March 26th so if you are interested in signing up, follow along as I’ll be sharing meals and answering your questions! One thing I’m changing this go-round is I will be trying to implement more fiber into my diet. I read this book and it just makes so much sense about the role fiber plays in our bodies and how those of us that love carbs and don’t want to cut out wine completely can really benefit from a fiber-rich diet. If you don’t love to read just listen to this podcast and you’ll get the gist of it! One thing people have asked for is for recipes. I’m no chef but I’ll do my best to write down the fake recipes I cook as well as give you a list of sources for actual recipes I like. 🙂

I’ve actually shared this outfit on my instagram account already as part of my #100Days100Looks challenge but I thought I could break it down for you here as well. These jeans are my FAVORITE. I haven’t ever really been a fan of the light denim look but I think the distressing on these, the hem and the high waist add just enough interest to keep them from looking frumpy. I paired the jeans with a structured blazer and a relaxed fitting tank for a casual but sophisticated look.

I love the neutrals of the outfit with the bright colors in this clutch and the contrasting pattern of these leopard pumps. I would wear this outfit to work, to a meeting with a client or brand and to an evening dinner. As the weather warms up it would be just as cute without the blazer!
