The August Sephora Haul is dedicated to anyone who is in need of some beauty T.L.C. August has been rough on the beauty front! My face is breaking out thanks to miserable humidity and mask wearing, my hair is breaking off courtesy of wearing it in a top knot for the past six months and I am just feeling in need of a little refreshing. As always, I’m going to share with you my favorite new products to hit Sephora’s shelves, but I’m also going to take a dive into the items that I think help fight breakouts, hair breakage and soothe irritated skin.

August Sephora Picks
Now, for my August Sephora finds! I don’t know about you guys, but August has not been kind to my face and the past several months definitely haven’t been kind to my hair. Below are the new products I’m trying to help fight and hide breakouts and repair my hair breakage. At the end you’ll see a new mascara I’m testing out this month, great for those who need lash separation.
Products to Fight Breakouts
Tatcha – The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser // Let’s talk about breakouts. One of the most effective ways to fight breakouts is to double cleanse. Double cleansing involves removing your makeup and any dirt or environmental impurities on the surface of your skin, and then cleansing again to really focus on your skin and pores. If you have breakouts from wearing a face mask or the change in temperatures, you should try double cleansing! Personally I like to use a micellar water or makeup remover and then a cleanser. It also helps to have a PH-balancing cleanser like this new product from Tatcha.
The Tatcha Rice Wash is a PH-neutral daily cleanser that washes away impurities without stripping the skin. You can use it on all skin types. However, since it is a cream-based cleanser I would recommend using if you are especially prone to dryness. It’s made with a blend of Japanese Algae to leave skin soft, comforted, and nourished, as well as hyaluronic acid to plump, and Tatcha‘s Signature Hadasei-3, which restores a visibly healthy, youthful-looking radiance.
SEPHORA COLLECTION Clean Face Mask // Another great thing to do to help keep your breakouts at bay is to give your skin the nourishment it needs, even if you have oily to combo skin! One way to do that is with the 2019 version of a mask, a calming or purifying face mask. If you are looking to calm and clarify your skin, try the Matcha version of this face mask. It is a eucalyptus-derived-fiber face mask with a formula made of 95 percent natural-origin ingredients that works in just five minutes! It will help clarify your pores, fight dryness and even calm any breakouts you have.
LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask // If your lips are suffering from lack of hydration then I would 100% recommend this lip sleeping mask from LANEIGE! It’s a leave-on mask that soothes and moisturizes overnight. And now it’s available in GUMMY BEAR! Enriched with vitamin C and antioxidants, its Berry Mix Complexâ„¢ offers a sweet blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, and blueberry extracts. If your face needs extra moisture in addition to your lips, you can also wear a water cream on your face at night like this one. I am a big fan of the LANEIGE brand and love their products!!
Too Faced Born This Way Matte 24 Hour Foundation // If you are struggling with breakouts due to wearing a mask or just the change in temperature or the humidity of August, then you might want to invest in a foundation with a really great coverage. This one from Too Faced is honestly one of the best full-coverage foundations I have tried. I like that while it covers impeccably it doesn’t necessarily feel heavy and doesn’t at all look cakey on your skin. It has a beautiful matte finish that controls oil and helps you look flawless for a full 24 hours. Set it with my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder and you are good to go!
Fighting Hair Breakage
Olaplex No. 0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment Kit // For those of us with hair breakage, might I recommend Olaplex. I love all of their products and cannot wait to try this new treatment kit! It is an intensive treatment that primes hair for deeper repair, strengthens, and protects hair integrity leveraging the OLAPLEXâ„¢ patented bond-building technology. I also am looking forward to getting my hands on this Kerastase Blond Absolu Overnight Recovery Treatment that I just ordered. It is an overnight leave-in serum with hyaluronic acid and edelweiss flower that hydrates your hair and helps it recover from damage due to lightening.
Favorite New Beauty Product
Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions Lengthening Mascara // Another new product to hit the shelves at Sephora, is this Hourglass lengthening mascara. It’s no secret that I am not a fan of hard mascara brushes however, I do know that some people really need a harder brush to help separate their lashes and this new mascara from Hourglass is a great formula. It coats your lashes in lightweight fibers for a high-impact, smudge-proof wear!
Stay tuned on stories as I continue to review these products throughout the month of August and don’t forget: From now until August 23rd, Beauty Insiders can get $15 off of $75 and $20 off of $100 with code WELCOMEBACK! This is a one-time offer for online shopping but there is no limit to how many times you can use it in stores.
