If there’s one thing I know, it’s that you guys are BIG Amazon shoppers. Seriously, last month I rounded up all my best selling items, and a good majority of the items you guys bought most of were from Amazon! I can’t say I’m surprised, though, since I’m pretty Amazon obsessed myself. I share weekly Amazon Finds in my Friday Favorites posts, and even have an Amazon Shop Page that I update regularly. Needless to say, if you’re a frequent Amazon browser, you’re reading the right blog! Knowing your shopping habits and mine, I knew I needed to share some info on their biggest sale of the year, Amazon Prime Day. The sale is still a week away and we won’t know exactly what the deals are until it begins, but I figured I’d give us all a head start so we can get as prepared as possible. That being said, allllll the details I have on Prime Day are below!

About Prime Day

The 5th Annual Amazon Prime Day will take place from July 15th-16th this year, and will begin at 12 AM PT (aka 3 AM EST)! You should think of this sale as the equivalent of Black Friday, except you can shop from the comfort of your couch and you won’t be feeling quite as sluggish from your turkey day food coma. The sale will run for a full 48 hours after it starts, so it will actually end at 3 AM on July 17th for east coasters. The sale is exclusive to Amazon Prime members, and there will be over a million deals offered, so if you’re not a Prime member already, I’d HIGHLY suggest joining!

I’ve been a member of Amazon Prime for as long as I can remember, and I can assure you it’s worth every penny. You get FREE (& fast!) shipping on millions of items, access to Prime video & music, and access to exclusive savings, discounts, and deals (exhibit A: PRIME DAY!). The benefits of a Prime membership extend way beyond this one event! But honestly you could easily make back the cost of your membership through savings from this sale alone.

What Will Be On Sale

In short, a lot. I tend to find the best deals in the home appliances and electronics categories, but you can also strike gold in the fashion, beauty, and kids departments. I’ll be updating this post with more specific buys once they’re released, but for now you can shop some early Prime Deals! Currently, Amazon is offering up to 30% off School Essentials and Off to College items. You can also save up to 50% on Women’s Activewear!

How to Shop

Subscribe subscribe subscribe! Everyone who subscribes to my newsletter will receive an e-mail from me first thing Monday morning with the scoop on the best Prime Day Finds. Don’t worry, I’m most definitely not the type that will constantly bombard your inbox (because nobody has time for that). You have my solemn vow that I’ll only send you the most pertinent, helpful information (i.e. Prime Day sale info) when you subscribe.

Tips & Tricks

If you made it this far, chances are you’re as serious about this sale as I am. I compiled a short list of tips for shopping the sale that may help you, especially if you’re planning on shopping right when the sale opens at 3 AM eastern time (am I crazy for pulling an all nighter for this? TBD). Tips are below:

1. Starting a week in advance (aka today), you can tap the “Watch this Deal” button on the items you’re wanting to shop! If and when they go on sale on Prime Day, you’ll get an alert.
2. Explore the Prime Day product launches! These are new products that are exclusive to Prime members for a limited time. I’m eyeing this cast iron cookware set, these smart dimmer light switches, and this robot vacuum cleaner you can control with your Alexa!
3. On Prime Day, the items included in the sale will be easily identifiable with a badge that says “PRIME DAY DEAL”. The ones I’ve seen so far are bright blue with black text!
