Every year we host an elaborate, adults-only Gingerbread House Making Party. Guests wear PJs and bring their supplies and we serve apps and cider. We all sit around our big farmhouse table, listen to Christmas music and craft (and laugh) the night away. This year our farmhouse table is in storage and our schedules are full of last-minute punch lists for our new home. A sucker for tradition, I set out to plan the easiest, low-cost gingerbread house making party I could with the help of Brandless.
If you’re unfamiliar with Brandless head on over to read about their website here. In short, Brandless is an online site comprised of hundreds of high quality products. Not only are their items mostly organic but they are made under the highest standards of safety, quality and social ethics. Plus they are cost efficient! Brandless is bringing items directly to you, minus the middle man markups typically built into retail. This means everything on their site is $3 or less!
We have had a pantry stocked full of Brandless since I discovered their website and their collection of non-GMO Gummy Lemonade Rings and Gummy Sour Worms were the first thing that came to mind when I was brainstorming how we could pull off an extremely easy, and low cost, gingerbread house party. This year we are only really going to decorate the girls’ room and our mantle and I’m going to go for a colorful, playful theme, and I think bright gingerbread houses will look so cute on the counter! Today I’m happy to team up with Brandless and share how you too can host an effortless gingerbread house making party of your own.
The first tip is to keep things small. Instead of trying to plan around a ton of people and our crazy schedules, we opted to head over to my in-laws for a pre-dinner party gingerbread competition. I brought the apps, Organic Blue Corn Tortilla Chips & Organic Black Bean & Corn Salsa for the adults and Organic White Cheddar Popcorn and fresh fruit for the kids. Zach was in charge of snagging some gingerbread kits on the way home for work. I made sure to tell him that he had to get the pre-made kind because if you spend time trying to build a house it will be Valentines before you get it right.
No matter the size of the gingerbread making party, bowls like these 100% compostable disposable bowls are perfect for holding supplies. Not only do they keep all of your candies and treats from rolling around but and if things get messy you can just toss them post-party. These bowls are made very well so I just stacked them back up and will use them for snacks this week.
All you need other than a gingerbread house kit and bowls are a load of decorating items. We opted for non-GMO Gummy Lemonade Rings, Fruit Wedges, Gummy Sour Worms, Glazed Almonds, Hard Candy and Maple Cream Cookies which made for really cute landscaping! I brought the Coconut Lemon Cookies but didn’t dare let them get near a gingerbread house as they truly are my guilty pleasure. Another favorite of mine, the White Cheddar Popcorn was used as snow much to my dismay. It was Hayden’s idea to use the popcorn as snow and I have to say I think it was quite the added touch. The kids enjoyed eating most of their decorating supplies while the adults snacked on Organic Blue Corn Tortilla Chips and Organic Black Bean & Corn Salsa.
I mean how easy is that?!? A few disposable tablecloths, several gingerbread houses and one stop to Brandless.com for 100% compostable disposable bowls, non-GMO snacks & candy and you’re well on your way to creating an easy & cost-effective party of your own!

Such a fun idea! Do you mind to share where you got the girls’ dresses and vests from? Love them! 🙂
I have learned the premade houses really are the key!! I love the idea of buying extra candy for it too.
