Openfit: A Review of My Favorite At Home Workout App

This post is sponsored by OpenFit

Before I had kids I was a bit of a workout fanatic. I regularly went to workout classes at the gym or a studio and even played pickup soccer from time to time. I would go on runs, workout with friends, or hit up a pilates class on a whim.

Now that I am managing two little girls and working full-time, finding the margin in my schedule to workout isn’t nearly as easy. Try as I might, I’ve just never been able to force myself to consistently get to the gym in the mornings before my family gets up. I’m in this weird space where my kids are just old enough that I can’t very well pop them in a double-stroller like I used to, and not yet old enough for me to leave them at home to go out on a quick run.

In this season of life, I have become increasingly thankful for at-home workouts that let me break a sweat, get my muscles moving, or just stretch and clear my head for 20 minutes of the day. Regardless of your season of life, and even if you have a regular workout routine, I think we can all agree that the ability to conveniently workout in the comfort of your home is a game-changer for time management, your daily mood, and your overall health. For the past couple of months, I have been relying on the Openfit app for low-impact yet effective, quick 15-30 minute workouts.

The Openfit App

Openfit is a user-friendly online wellness platform that lets you stream workouts from the comfort of your home. The Openfit app offers a wide variety of fun, live workouts taught by certified trainers who are there to cheer you on, keep you motivated, and help improve your form with video instruction.

On Demand Workouts

I personally prefer the on-demand workouts Xtend Barre and XB Pilates classes, led by celebrity trainer Andrea Rogers. If barre and Pilates aren’t your cup of tea, Openfit offers hundreds of on-demand classes for you to choose from.

Online Barre Workouts Through the App

I have been using the Openfit app for the Xtend Barre and XB Pilates workouts. As a dancer in my previous life, I miss having long, toned muscles, excellent posture and good flexibility. There are so many aspects of dance that are great for your long term health and fitness.

The Openfit workouts, created by celebrity trainer Andrea Rogers, are a combination of traditional mat Pilates, ballet barre, and high energy cardio designed to sculpt your body into lean, strong dancer-like physiques. The 30-minute XB Pilates program combines classical mat pilates with Reformer – Inspired cardio movements to mimic equipment-based Pilates classes. Xtend Barre also requires just 30 minutes a day and combines the body-shaping benefits of a traditional barre routine with a fat-blasting calorie burn. No barre required, just a small space and a chair!
