Hey friends! Hope everyone had a great Halloween! My girls dressed up as the Scarecrow and the Lion from The Wizard of Oz along with some of their besties dressed like other cast members. It was Hayden’s first real year of trick-or-treating and needless to say so fun and utterly exhausting chasing a soon-to-be three year old around the neighborhood. After all of the Halloween festivities over the past week I’m in major need of an adult date-night where I can wear my new ruffle hem top. Not only is this top less than $23 but it comes in 9 colors! Say that with me. Twenty three dollars. Nine options. (What!) And if you like this style then you might like these similar options here, here or here.
The question now becomes how many colors of the same top is it acceptable to have in one’s closet? I remember being young and having a hard time finding jeans or shorts to fit. When I would finally find a pair my dad would make me get about 3 extras or 3 different colors of the same style. I thought it was to save me from the agony of never having anything ever fit but now I realize it was some real ninja parenting. Three items of a duplicate style = less time spent shopping for more options, less time spent washing clothes and less time I would spend every morning trying to find what jeans to wear.
Today I still use that philosophy with certain tops and jeans but I like to branch out and find new styles which comes in handy when you run a style blog. My most recent discovery is this pair of jeans from Topshop. Not only are they 40% off right now but they also come in various lengths which is so great for me since I always need a 30″ inseam. Now be warned you need to size up. I ordered my actual fit size and I am more poured into a pair of jeans than I have ever been before in these photos. You could literally bounce a quarter off my rear these pants are so tight. I wore them again on Halloween (see below) and they stretched out a tiny bit but I’m still wishing I would have gotten one size larger. Also incase you’re confused what you’re looking at here we were the Three Blonde Mice. Punny, huh?
What a pretty blouse! I love the color and fun ruffles!
