Modern Neutral Porch Decor

Welcome to my first home tour blog post! Today I’m going to be giving you a look at our front porch, screened-in porch and outdoor dining area! They aren’t 100% completed but truthfully when is anything in a home ever 100% done? Since we have three porch areas, I’ve broken down the spaces and decor by each area. You will find links for the decor and similar sources from around the web for anything that is one of a kind. I hope you enjoy this peek into our home.

FRONT PORCH DECOR

As we were building the house we spent so much time focusing on the exterior that it gave me a lot of time to think about front porch decor. I knew I wanted large, modern planters paired with my Circa lighting and moody exterior and I’m happy with how the layered rugs tie it all together!

PLANTERS // I spent forever searching for containers and found the perfect ones in these large, modern planters. I planted Velvet Elvis which I don’t love because of the smell, Diamond Frost and a version of vine that I’m not totally sure what it is. If you know what the front plants are let me know!

GEOMETRIC RUG // This black and white rug was a Target find and I wish I would have bought three of them for when this one undoubtedly fades.

WELCOME MAT // I so wish I could take credit for this custom doormat but I totally stole the idea from April Tomlin.

LIGHTS // These Aged Iron Medium Sconce make our exterior!

EXTERIOR COLOR // Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams

PLANTS // Velvet Elvis (Thriller), Diamond Frost (Filler), Sweet Potato Vine or such (Spiller)

This sitting area is a little funky for me but I thought it would be fun to embrace the bohemian trend for summer. I decided to mix several patterns of textiles with our simplistic furniture and keep everything neutral and inviting. Once summer is over I will swap out the geometric pillow prints for something more “southern” and cozy. Maybe a plaid or a buffalo check?!?

RUG // This geometric rug was the first decor item I bought for the back porch. I typically don’t love geometric patterns but I think it’s fun to play with and I love how it’s modern but not too out there. I also saw it in a showroom and it looked great so I didn’t really think too far past that.

FURNITURE // After searching every. single. outdoor. store. I finally stumbled across this sectional and chair at West Elm. I love that they look like Restoration Hardware but aren’t as low to the ground or as expensive! We bought this coffee table but it hasn’t been delivered yet!

THROW // This throw is from a local decor store but I’m searching for similar and will update this post when I find it!

PILLOWS // I saw this geometric pillow at World Market and decided to scoop up a few more to mix and match!

POTS // These pots are from a plant shop but I’ve sourced some similar ones from around the web for you below! I planted Lavance Lavender, Creeping Wire Vine, White Hydrangeas, Ferns and Crystal Peak Obedient Plant!

LANTERNS // These woven lanterns are a Target decor find that I purchased for the porch coffee table. For now they make great decoration for the outdoor fireplace.

RAILINGS // We used The Heirloom Companies for our cable railing and they were AMAZING!! I highly recommend them if you are looking for any custom wood or iron design!

TABLE // The table is an antique and is not made for the outdoors at all but we’re going to use it until it rots or falls apart. I also love the look of this one!

CHAIRS // I am OBSESSED with these matte black metal bistro chairs! They are affordable and comfy!!

CHANDELIER // This chandelier was very inexpensive and another last-minute add to our porch dining area. We were going to have a fan but Zach made all my dreams come true when he said he would be ok with a chandelier!

TABLESCAPE // I always buy neutral table accessories because they are so easy to mix and match depending on the season or holiday. For this table, I used a simple linen runner, square wicker chargers, white melamine dinner plates, botanical salad plates and striped napkins with locust napkin rings! For the centerpiece, I used faux ferns (similar here) and a vintage bread bowl that I’ve including some similar options for below!
