2024 is the year I became a huntress, or at least decided to join my husband on a few of his hunting trips. I’ve had a bow for several years and have shot it a time or two in the backyard for fun but didn’t have any of the apparel or gear needed for an actual hunt. In September we went spot and stalking hunting for mule deer in South Dakota and in November we went whitetail hunting in Mexico. I will share more about the hunts and experiences at a later date but Christmas is around the corner and I have been promising to get this list up for quite some time. So let’s just jump right in, shall we?

I was buying all of my apparel about a week before our first hunt. I have a few pieces from Sitka like this top and these pants but KUIU had a big selection in the sizes I needed so I went with that. I like that they let you sort by the type of hunt and honestly I just think their apparel is the best looking. After ordering I was very pleased with the fit, too. I didn’t feel bulky at all and have ended up wearing a few of the shirts, vests and jackets around the house and on side by side rides etc since our hunt. I chose the Valo & Verde patterns so that I could have two options for our different hunts. I ended up buying this hoodie that I have loved and pretty much every variety of Las Cuevas hat they make. On my feet I wore these hiking boots and these socks for every hunt. I also wore them hiking all over Montana and Wyoming and highly recommend them for comfort! 

My outfits essentially consisted of this top, these pants, this vest, and this jacket in each print. I also bought these gloves and these headbands. I also just bought these gloves, this baselayer, these leggings, and this neck gaiter for hunting our property in the cold. 

My gear is very minimal compared to Zach! I shoot my friend Eva’s bow that she has in collaboration with Bowtech, a Tru Fire release, and use a Marsupial pouch for my hand-me-down range finders.

Kids

Finding apparel for the girls was a struggle to say the least. KUIU was basically all sold out of their youth inventory. I ended up getting them these hats, this top, these hoodies, these beanies and these jackets in “Subalpine”. They were hunting in box blinds so they just wore Amazon leggings in brown and green and their hiking boots. They also wore their Burlebo hoodies.
