Happy Thursday, everybody! Let’s talk hair care with L’Oréal Paris’ newest line of products, shall we? A couple of days ago I did an Instagram live where I answered everything from my favorite makeup line to what skin care regimen I love. I had a ton of fun answering your questions and I’m fully planning on recapping them in a post. However, before I do that I need to make sure I know all of the answers!

One of the questions I was asked was what is my favorite shampoo & conditioner and I simply answered that I didn’t really have one at current time. I use a lot of different shampoos and conditioners and typically buy whatever catches my eye at the store. I have been meaning to try a few new affordable brands and find something I love that I could also recommend for you guys but for some reason I get overwhelmed with all of the options. I know that seems silly when I go through makeup samples like it’s my job, but unlike makeup samples you can’t really see how a shampoo & conditioner works with one application. Plus there is the whole task of knowing which shampoo & conditioner you need based on your hair type. I love to purchase products that make my hair feel softer, make it stronger, lather well and smell good. Is there honestly anything worse than a shampoo that won’t lather or something that smells like sewer water? I think not.
When L’Oréal Paris approached me to review their L’Oréal Paris Elvive line I knew it was a good chance to discover new hair products specifically tailored to my hair type and a chance to find a new easily accessible hair regimen. The first thing I did was take a hair test on their website and the results told me that I was a level one – which was pretty spot-on. I learned that my hair was in pretty great shape but that I needed to protect it from heat damage. Before I took this test I would have told you that I had healthy hair but that overusing heat products is what wears it down. I take my vitamins, use leave-in treatments and I only use a hairdryer and curling iron 2-3 days a week. The other days I let my hair air-dry, wear a top-knot, a braid, or use enough dry shampoo until it’s able to be styled.
The test suggested that I use the Elvive Total Repair 5 Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner, as well as the Elvive Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm and this Total Repair 5 Protein Recharge Treatment as needed! All of them can be found in the hair aisle at CVS so I dropped in to the nearest one and picked them up. I love how the products smell, lather and make my hair feel. Plus they offer some serious benefits to your strands. They fight the five visible signs of damaged hair including split ends, weakness, roughness, dullness and dehydration. The leave-in conditioner is weightless and makes your hair smooth but doesn’t weigh it down and this rinse-out hair mask is said to remove up to a years worth of hair damage in just one use! Not only do these products help you have up to 97 percent less breakage but you can get all four of them for around $25! I mean sign me up and send me a case!
If you aren’t exactly a ‘take an online test’ type of gal or maybe you honestly don’t know if your hair is dry or oily or what type of split ends you might be a little confused as to which product you need. If that’s the case then head to your nearest CVS because there will be an in-store event March 8th – 11th where a consultant can help you identify the type of care your hair needs.
Think about it, take a trip to CVS, buy a few Easter basket supplies, load up on a new lip gloss or ten and be well on your way to stronger, healthier and more glamorous tresses. Here are a few shots of my hair after using the product for 4 days!
