Happy Monday! Let’s kick off the week with a fall makeup routine, shall we? And not just any fall makeup routine. I’m talking an entire “every day” makeup look completely with NYX products from Walgreens! The NYX butter gloss has been in my beauty arsenal for years now and have also blogged about their blush and illuminator in the past. I know you guys love department makeup at drugstore prices and many of you have messaged me how much you like these products specifically. There is a Walgreens right near my house and I think I could navigate the NYX display blindfolded, that is how frequently I visit. Needless to say, I’m very excited to team up with Walgreens & Shopstyle to show you the NYX products I am loving this fall.
(This post is sponsored by Walgreens and Shopstyle. All opinions are my own.)
Before we get to the makeup routine let me give you a little back story on this brand, ok? NYX (pronounced “nix”) is named after the Greek Goddess of the night and founded in 2010 by a 25 year old named Toni Ko. Say that with me again. Twenty f-i-v-e. Not only is it astonishing to me how young this brand is but also how young the founder was. As in she’s my age. So while I was doing I’m not really sure what for the last seven years of my life she was founding a company and turning it into a worldwide brand. So don’t just take my word for it that this makeup is fantastic. Take the word of L’Oreal who bought it in 2014 for a whopping 500 MILLION dollars. If that doesn’t tell you that this is some good stuff then I don’t know what will. I think it’s incredible not only how fast this brand has grown but also that it was started by a female entrepreneur, and a young one at that.
Ok fangirl rant over. Time for makeup. (Expect more excited rants.)
Here is a peek at the full-face “every-day” makeup look I created. I’m going to go through each product step by step and in the order I applied. Then at the bottom I’ll summarize them for you!
FACE
HD Foundation in Natural – I was pleasantly surprised with not only how well this went on but how smooth it applied. I am in the shade “natural” for now but I will be transitioning to “soft beige” soon with winter.
HD Concealer in Light – A great concealer! It applied well, had good coverage and I loved the shade on my skin.
Professional Makeup Highlight & Contour Pro Palette – I love this palette! It is very similar to another that I use but I think that this one has an even better collection of shades. I typically mix and match them depending on the look I’m going for, the time of day, etc.
HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder Translucent Finish – A little of this goes a long way and it really helps to set your makeup and give you a flawless look.
HD Blush in “Hamptons” – This blush is awesome!! Also, I always do blush and highlighter after I set my makeup with a finishing powder.
Liquid Illuminator – This again is a very strong product (a good thing) because it helps your money go a long way. A dab of this on your fingers and you can pat your skin and highlight your cheek bone, the bridge of your nose, etc.
EYES
Dream Catcher Shadow Palette – This palette has an impressive collection of shades, they apply well and stay put (don’t run-off or smudge). I didn’t even apply a eyeshadow primer but just used the HD concealer instead.
Liquid Liner – This is a very fine point liquid liner with a brush so it will take some skill but they also have a dual tip one that I want to try.
Lush Lashes Mascara – So you guys know that I am a mascara snob. This mascara is actually really good! I want to try some of the others and definitely want to try the “Voluptuous” one with the normal brush end.
Lip Pencil in “Nude Pink” – Ok here is another dupe of a very expensive department store product I use. I LOVE this color. If you like my lip gloss or lipsticks I share then you will love this pretty pink hue.
Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in “Tea Rose” – I bought this lipstick in the Tea Rose color as well as the Paparazzi & Minimalism and I am so glad I did! Oh, did I mention they are only $4 a pop?!?!
Butter Gloss in “Creme Brulee” – The best lip gloss for the best price. Period. At $5 each you can get one of each. My other favorite hues are Vanilla Cream Pie & Angel Food Cake.
Here is the complete look again.

She’s older than that now but that’s how old she was when she founded it. Crazy!!
Love this post and NYX! Their lipglosses are the bomb.com and I will definitely be trying that brow pencil next! I will also admit that I honestly had no clue how to pronounce their name till I read this post. I just called it N-Y-X like I literally spelled it out loud (insert monkey covering it’ eyes emoji). Thanks for helping me with my makeup and also my reading.
I pronounced it that way for so long too!!
Love this look and can’t wait to try their brow pencil and eyeshadow. Thanks for reviewing and sharing! 🙂
Yay!! Thanks so much for the feedback!
Beautiful lipstick shade,..
Thanks!
So pretty! I can’t wait to try some these products. What colors did you use for your eyes? I would love to see a tutorial on how to apply the eyeshadow…I need help in this area!
I’m working on getting my tutorial area set up in my new apartment and I’ll recreate it on video!
In the dream catcher palette which palette did you use? Was it golden horizon?
Dream Catcher!
