Today I’ve teamed up with Diet Coke & my friend Summer of Simple Stylings to bring you a little Christmas cheer in the form of a fancy drink display. A couple of weeks ago I met up with Summer at her pretty Charlotte home where we played Christmas music, popped the bubbly and chatted blogging and mommy-ing as we styled this shoot. We wanted to create an easy drink station for anyone out there who is throwing a holiday gathering but maybe doesn’t have a bar, bar cart or just wants to set up a drink display around the Christmas tree.
For a successful drink display you don’t need a bar cart or a bar setup, just a flat surface. Any table will do really! You could set up a station with a tray placed on a sofa table, coffee table by the tree, dining table, or even a kitchen counter. To start with put down a tablecloth, runner or placemats. We used a blanket from Summer’s living room on the table and then sprinkled it with confetti.
Summer has an awesome boxwood wall in her dining area so we pulled her dining room table over and use it as our backdrop. We decorated it with ornaments I got at the Pottery Barn outlet and while they don’t have them online you can find similar here or here.
When you’re setting up a party you can always make a cocktail beforehand or you can be lazy / spend more time on your hair and set out mixers in pretty bottles like these with a decanter of your favorite alcohol. And as always, don’t forget champagne! To dress-up the drinks adorn them with rosemary sprigs, pomegranate seeds and sitters like these candy cane ones from Pottery Barn.
For more festive details we tied napkins around the champagne bottles, set out flowers, cocktail napkins, glitter coasters, pomegranate in a dish and confetti! What do you think? Have I inspired you to throw a blanket on a table, set out some drinks and spend more time socializing and less time stressing?
It was so great having you over friend and putting together this fun bar set up! Happy Holidays!
I enjoyed it so much! Thank you for having me! Let’s get together again soon!
Where are the champagne glasses from? Love the gold on them!!
I think she got them from Target! These are the only similar ones I could find. http://www.worldmarket.com/product/gold+stemless+champagne+flutes+set+of+4.do?&from=fn
