So here is the thing about me as a “blogger”. I’m a blogger because I love sharing things with others. That doesn’t exactly mean that I love being the subject of photos but to be a great blogger you have to create great content and until the day I’m ruling the world and styling models I’m going to take one for the team and wear the clothes myself. Luckily for me one of my very best friends, Katheryn, just so happens to be a photographer and we live in the same tiny mountain town making it easy to get tother to document outfits.
When I met Katheryn we instantly bonded over our love for clothes and our obsession over our kids. Now we crack ourselves up on the regular roaming around town and trying our hand at outfit photography. And if I do say so myself we are getting pretty good at it! But enter the case of the coffee cup. Constantly on the hunt for new inspiration one of us, I honestly can’t remember who, said maybe you/I should try to hold a coffee cup. You see my hands get very lonely when I’m taking photos, making me feel strangely similar to Ricky Bobby and it’s all together too awkward to handle. Do I put them in my pockets? No that looks like I’m missing fingers. Ok hang them at my side. No that’s a zombie. What about playing with my hair? Who am I Kate Upton? You see my problem. We have seen plenty of other bloggers rocking a coffee cup prop and it’s looks cute enough so we went for it. The only problem was I didn’t set the coffee cup down. Not once. Every – single – photo has this dumb Starbucks cup in it which actually doesn’t even have my name on it bc it was Katherine’s. Note to self…. if you’re going to use a prob at least get one photo without it.
I don’t really know what the purpose was for going in to all of that but maybe to tell you a) I’m not a professional model (as if there was any dispute on that) b) half of the time I don’t know what I’m doing I’m just trying to give you a visual as to what I’m passionate about and that’s sharing style and inspiration and c) take photos you see of bloggers with a grain of salt. We want to look effortless and chic when in actuality there is a ton of work and 483,394 photos that go into a successful blog post. The point of taking these photos was for a blog post all about affordable cardigans and what to wear them with. So here are my favorite cardigan options under $100 with a side of Starbucks.
Now what to wear them with? My favorite options are gingham, tees and chambray (naturally).
