This is the face of someone who’s about to get hit by traffic and laughs when they are uncomfortable. That’s the sort of thing that happens when you go eat with your photographer. She would have me walk right in the middle of traffic if it meant the lighting was better and I love her for it. If you follow along on snapchat (username: southstyleguide) then you saw our shenanigans trying to document this outfit including how long she made me walk around in these wedges. Good thing they are comfy! Sadly they are currently out of stock but you can find similar styles here or here.
Now let’s talk about this dress that just so happens to be on sale for $16! I love a t-shirt dress in theory but sometimes they can hug you in all the wrong places or ride up when you walk. This one is a great length and I really love the cut. It’s not too tight and not too loose so it stays in place as you move about. Another reason I love this dress is the fabric. Sometimes t-shirt material is too thick and makes me feel like I’m suffocating and other times it’s too thin and makes me feel like people can see my underwear. Both scenarios are equally awful so thank you Old Navy for getting this right!
If you are wearing a tight fitting dress around and want to make the look more casual and not have to worry about sucking in 24-7 then just tie a utility jacket or a chambray shirt around your natural waist. Too low and you look like TLC and too high and you look like you’ve spilled something on yourself. Simply pull the arms of the jacket / top over your hipbones and tie tightly to accentuate your natural waist and voila, you just upped the cuteness of your outfit and allowed yourself the freedom to eat whatever you want!
