Fact: Enjoying warm weather months to the fullest means dining al fresco as often as possible. The most memorable meals are spent surrounded by nature; it’s the laid-back, light-filled hours enjoying simple pleasures with family and friends that make summer so special. That’s why we designed our house with a front porch, screened-in back porch and outdoor eating area. When you live in a subtropical climate and love to set a table, you make the most of every opportunity to entertain.
The Home Depot is our go-to destination for all things home improvement, lawn and garden, but I can’t say enough about their Home Decorators Collection. Featured categories include everything from flooring and bath (we bought the prettiest vanities for the girls) to lighting and window treatments. We’ve purchased a lot of furniture at The Home Depot and are always impressed by durable, high-quality products and how easy it is to browse and shop online. From now until 7/13, you can shop up to 35% off select furniture, mattresses and décor for 4th of July Savings! Today, I’m sharing a few of my favorite finds for enhancing any outdoor space so you can host your own seasonal soirée!
Patio Furniture
Comfortable seating is an outdoor entertaining must. I’m an enthusiastic ambassador for Adirondack chairs. The black finish will never go out of style, but there are a variety of frame colors to choose from. Gather around a fire pit for s’mores after the sun goes down or lounge on the deck with a good book.
Bamboo folding chairs are lightweight and easy to transport wherever an extra seat is needed. Super resilient and the perfect accent piece for both casual get-togethers and elevated events.
Outdoor Lighting
Keep the conversation going long after the crickets start to sing with these weatherproof string lights. There’s no rush to southern hospitality, and nothing says stay awhile like the ambiance set by intimate lighting. Hang above your patio, along your fence, or between backyard trees.
Area Rugs
Outdoor rugs are welcoming anchors for a porch or patio. Not to mention the ability to hose off any spills, which truly speaks to my soul. Striped and natural options will go with anything. Be sure to layer in a couple side tables where guests can set their drinks.
Home Décor
You will never regret investing in these sleek, modern planters. A similar pair flanks our front entrance and provides eye-catching height and definition. I fill mine with Velvet Elvis, Diamond Frost and Sweet Potato Vine.
Now, for the table. Make rustic, refined centerpieces with white stoneware, taupe or brown terracotta vases – just add herbs or your favorite perennial. Lavance Lavender, Creeping Wire Vine, White Hydrangeas, Crystal Peak Obedient Plant and Ferns are a few of my top picks.
Missing a green thumb? Allow me to introduce you to no-maintenance plants. These faux potted olive trees will look gorgeous in a decorative urn and are available in 72 and 82-inch versions. If you need just a touch of greenery, it doesn’t get cuter than these mini faux olive trees.
When it’s too warm for a fire, white votive LED candles add a cozy glow. Scatter across surfaces and instantly make any occasion feel more special and safe for curious little hands.Bring in organic texture with this 20-piece set of bamboo flatware that you can throw right in the dishwasher. Drinks are literally the best ice breaker, so the moment your guests arrive, offer to get them started with a refreshing beverage in these elegant crystal glasses.
