I had my eyebrows microbladed last summer and today wanted to share with you my most-asked eyebrow questions about microblading and my go-to eyebrow products.

Are your eyebrows Microbladed?

Yes! My eyebrows are microbladed and then I fill them in as needed with the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe. If you don’t want to buy this one then I recommend NYX as a dupe for the Brow Wiz. The reason I fill in my eyebrows is because if I’m wearing dramatic eye makeup then I want dramatic brows. If I’m just wearing mascara to run an errand I don’t want to be “all brows”.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a technique where a small tool made of 14 tiny needles tattoos your skin, adding semi-permanent pigment to your eyebrows. The pigment is applied to the non-living, non-bleeding layers of the skin. The small tool makes a tiny paper cut and places the pigment into the cut. The pigment doesn’t go deep enough into the layers of your skin to result in a permanent tattoo and will fade and disappear altogether over time. The process takes about 2 hours from start to finish and is performed in a room like you are getting a facial. I took my eyebrow pencil and has the esthetician match that color. A numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure and it doesn’t hurt but can feel like small paper cuts as the numbing cream starts to wear off. Your eyebrows will be darker at first as a result of the dye sitting on the skin, then they will peel, will fade and then will finally achieve their desired look within 7 to 10 days.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

The typical amount of time that microblading will last is a year and a half to two years.

How do you learn how to fill your brows in?

I followed the Queen of Eyebrow’s famous “Golden Ratio“. She even sells stencils and I use her brow pencil as well. I have tried countless brow products and haven’t found anything I like more than the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe. The fine pencil allows you to achieve a natural look and the “taupe” color is the perfect shade for my skin!
