I love a fall wedding. Maybe because that’s when we got married but also because it’s so great to be able to celebrate love, eat good food and dance the night away without sweating to death. Since this week is our sixth anniversary I thought it a perfect time to talk dresses to wear to fall weddings! If you have nuptials to attend in October or early November, you can’t go wrong with this $55 number that is available in three different hues! I love the feminine ruffles, trendy cutout and the asymmetrical hemline.

The three biggest trends for fall right now are florals, lace (always) and velvet. I personally love the velvet trend but I think you should definitely proceed with caution. And by you I mean all of us and myself mostly. Velvet can be beautiful and classy when it’s incorporated into embroidered patterns and appliqus. However, I would steer clear from a full-on velvet frock unless you have some rocking body and are going to a formal wedding or the Cannes Film Festival where a slinky velvet dress is acceptable. I just think there are too many opportunities for lumps, wrinkles, spills and stretches. You get the picture, right?

Speaking of accessories, here are some of my favorites!I really only have two pairs of shoes that I rely on when I’m dressing up, these pumps and these heeled sandals. You can never go wrong with a nude shoe because it matches everything, elongates your legs and never goes out of style. Pair any style with simple hoops or timeless studs and carry a match-everything clutch and you’re wedding to wine, dine and dance the night away!
