I went to Sephora last week to pick up a refill of my favorite lipgloss and what to do you know it I left with 97 items. I plan on reviewing them on my YouTube channel soon to show you how they look and why I love them so much. Now that we are in our new apt I feel like I’m really going to be able to crank out some beauty videos. First of all, the apartment is really small which I’m loving because I can work in our bedroom where my makeshift office is set up and then the girls room / playroom is right next to it. Not only is my tiny corner desk quaint and cozy but the lighting is great! I’m using the white desk from our old bedroom and I’m really feeling a chic office station & gallery wall situation. It’s the same desk pictured in the photos below. And now let’s dish on the products, shall we?
From Left to Right: Kat Von D Lock-It Mini Baking Duo | Milk Makeup Blur Stick | Urban Decay Perversion Mascara | Caudalie Beauty Elixir | Bare Minerals Gen Nude in “Snarky”, “Fancy” and “Forbidden” | Becca Highlighter in “Champagne Pop”
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – You guys know that I’m a huge fan of drugstore makeup and love my L’Oreal Mascara. This mascara by Urban Decay is the only mascara that has even come close to being just as good. Actually (gulp) I think it’s better. My friend Clea from The Home Edit told me about it after I was marveling at her luscious lashes and I’m so glad she shared the love! I’m so skeptical of fancy mascaras but this one goes on so smooth, layers without flaking and makes my lashes so very long. I think it’s definitely worth the money… something I wouldn’t say about most non-drug store mascaras.
Becca Highlighter in “Champagne Pop” – I also went to Sephora for more of this highlighter. It’s my favorite because I think it pulls of that subtle highlighter look but still actually looks like you’re wearing a highlighter. I like makeup that looks natural but I still want to look like I’m wearing makeup. Too many highlighters either make me look like Keisha or I have to use a headlight from a car to even see a sheen. This highlighter is a perfect balance and has beautiful golden tones that match a ton of complexions. It does what any highlighter should, successfully makes your skin look like it’s really dewy and reflecting light.
Milk Makeup Blur Stick – My friend Lindsey told me about this one and I have loved using it! I always use a primer before my foundation but primers typically have silicone in them which I don’t love. The silicone primers don’t apply as smoothly for me, can clog your pores and tend to ball up if you rub your skin which is just gross. This Milk Makeup Blur Stick minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines and gives you a smooth finish as it locks in your makeup.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir – Greatest. Of. All. Time. I would bathe in this stuff if I could. I have used it daily for what seems like forever to prep my skin, set my makeup and freshen up my complexion all day long. It brightens your appearance, tightens the appearance of pores and has an intoxicating smell.
Bare Minerals Gen Nude in “Snarky”, “Fancy” and “Forbidden” – Another lipgloss worth the investment. I absolutely love the color “snarky” and wear it on the daily. This lipgloss is rich and creamy without being thick and sticky. It’s so smooth and the pigment is on point!
Kat Von D Lock-It Mini Baking Duo – I typically use Tarte Shape Tape and Laura Mercier setting powder to set my makeup but thought I would give this mini duo a whirl. I actually really love it! It’s light which will be good for fall & winter and the setting power is amazing. I’ve been using it under my eyes to set in my concealer and then still using the Laura Mercier all over my face.
