Bell Sleeve Blouses. Try to say that ten times fast. If wearing bell sleeves is wrong I don’t wanna be right. For the life of me I cannot figure out what it is with me and these dang huge sleeves. I don’t know if it’s because they are a perfect mixture of classic structure and feminine details or if it’s because I have an innate desire to look like Jim Carey in when he does the conga in The Mask. Regardless of the cause I’m just going to go with it because every time I wear one of these tops I just feel pretty. Oh so pretty.

There aren’t many trends that do that for me. For instance if I tried to pull off birth-control sandals, I mean Birkinstocks then not only would I feel like I was reporting to some casual nurse convention but my husband might actually laugh me out of the house. And for those of you who don’t know what “birth control shoes” are they are shoes that serve as pretty good birth control because no man thinks they are sexy.
Same with overalls.
Get outta here you skinny, hipster, long-legged girls being quirky and making overalls look cute. You know what I would look like if I put on a pair of overalls? Like I’m volunteering for farm night at pre-school at best and like I’m having a full on mental breakdown at worst. My butt is too big and my legs are too short and I am just not interested in looking like a denim penguin, okay?

But let’s not be about what we’re against and instead be about what we’re for. And I am pro-bell sleeves. I want a closet full of girly bell-sleeve blouses.
Oh my gosh I literally just thought of what it is. I should probably edit and rewrite this whole post but it’s my blog and I do what I want. I love bell sleeves because what I am missing from spring & summer clothes are the dimension I get with layers in the fall & winter. When I wear layers I just feel cuter. Maybe it’s because I feel more “put together” or something. I think that is what bell-sleeves to for me too. So there you have it guys. Bell-sleeves are the button-up flannels of summer. You heard it here first.
I laughed so hard out loud at your overall commentary — I am the exact same and echo your sengtiments 100%!
Bell sleeves are one of my favorites to wear! I love how flowy they are. Can’t get enough of your stacked arm candy. 🙂
