The Southern C Summit

Hi friends! With Thanksgiving behind us I feel like I actually have the capacity to devote towards Christmas shopping. I always have grand plans of being done with Christmas before Thanksgiving and then those grand plans turn into devoting all of my necessary brain skills to packing for, cooking for, and unpacking from Thanksgiving. So now here we are, one day shy of December and I’m excited to let you know that thesouthernstyleguide.com is finally getting into the Christmas spirit! Starting tomorrow and for the next two weeks I will be pumping out gift guides like your grandma pumps out cheese straws.

To kick things off I wanted to tell you a couple of things that are on my list! (Maybe in a plot to have them magically delivered to my door, maybe just to bond with you all…. you’ll never know.) I don’t know what your wish list looks like but I live in the space between I want a $600 cordless vacuum to I really just need some new socks that I haven’t taken the time to buy myself. It’s really hard for me to find good average price gifts to send out to my parents and in-laws so I always ask for just one gift instead of a bunch of little ones. Because after all, the larger gifts are the things I just cannot bring myself to spend the money on but I really am itching for.

For instance I really want this curling wand to magically appear in my stocking and my bathroom counters desperately need a makeup organizer. I really think I would use this crossbody constantly because it’s a wallet and a bag all in one and this cream luggage just needs to be with me on my next trip, ok? Another thing I love to ask for are trips, money for trips, vouchers for trips, heck I would even take sky miles to redeem for trips. I would 100% rather spend money on experiences and seeing new places than any of the products I have mentioned. This year I’m asking for my husband to take me to Grenada but I’ve also already purchased a trip to The Summit, a multi-day conference by The Southern Coterie, for myself.

The Southern C Summit

If you’re a blogger, small business owner, photographer or creative you need buy yourself an early Christmas present and join me at The Summit! While I have never personally attended this conference (I’m only a two year old blogger, after all) I do have several seasoned friends in the small business & blogging community who say it is well worth the investment! Limited to only 250 attendees, the event provides valuable access to six exclusive networking opportunities in the forms of dinner, cocktail parties, a surfside lunch and a farewell brunch. Between all of the eating and mingling there is also a wide array of valuable educational sessions on a range of topics from social media tactics to branding and creative strategy.

@thesouthernc

The Summit is designed to offer a community of passionate entrepreneurs, creatives and small business owners an opportunity to connect and collaborate amongst top names in media, branding and blogging. This year presenters include Photographer Gray Malin, the Brand Marketing Director from ONE KINGS LANE, creative strategist for Pinterest, blogger Mandy Rye and editors from Better Homes & Gardens, Traditional Home, Coastal Living, Domino Magazine and many more!

The Southern C Summit, Best Conferences in the South

Every year The Southern Coterie hosts The Summit in a different Southern city and this year that city is Sea Island, GA. The host property will be the Sea Island Resort and I am more than a little excited about it! The Sea Island Resort is the only resort in the world to have received four Forbes Five-Star awards for eight consecutive years and it is an absolute beauty. I’m going to have to stop myself from wandering the grounds instagramming to actually focus and soak up all of knowledge the conference has to offer.
