What I Packed for New England

Zach and I are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary by galavanting through New England together, and y’all…it’s actually fall here. Not fake fall or fall-that-feels-like-summer. Just real, air is cold, leaves are turning, I need a sweater FALL! Packing for this trip was a thrill (I’ve been waiting to wear my sweaters and layers for far too long) and yet, a challenge. First of all, it’s very hard to remember what 55 weather feels like, and what kind of layering it warrants. Second, sweaters take up a LOT of room in a suitcase. After much deliberation (and elimination) I finally got my suitcase closed, and am sharing everything that made the cut below!

What I Packed for New England

J. Crew Perfect Rain Jacket // I shared this rain jacket in last week’s Favorites & Finds! It’s the perfect length, comes in 7 colors, and is great for layering!

Madewell High Rise Button Front Jeans // My ride or die jeans. Couldn’t leave home without them!

Madewell Bandana // I brought along this bandana in color “burnt sienna multi” to add a little variety to my outfits!

Madewell Mid Rise Skinny Jeans // I also love this pair of jeans! They don’t have the button front detail that I love on the other pair, but they have the same great fit and a slightly darker wash.

Madewell Mockneck Sweater // Love a mock neck sweater. This one is super soft, pairs easily with jeans and booties, and can be layered with just about anything for maximum warmth!

J. Crew Leopard Button Up Shirt // Will I ever have enough leopard print for fall? Probably not.

Top Shop Mock Neck Sweater // As seen here! Excited to finally sport this sweater in an environment where it will not cause me to sweat.

BP Cognac Leather Booties // Knowing that we’d be doing a lot of walking during this trip, I brought along my comfiest pair of booties. I have the cognac color, which pairs perfectly with all the neutral tops I brought along!

V Neck Sweater // Another favorite from Something Navy! I’m loving the rust color for fall and can’t wait to wear it among all the foliage in New England.

Z Supply Mock Neck Pullover // I always make to bring something comfy/cozy when I travel and this pullover is just that!

Leopard Print Scarf // Picked this up at the N Sale a while back! Sadly it’s sold out, but here is a similar version.

Patagonia Retro Pile Vest // The vest I featured in my latest Backcountry post. I have the beech brown color!

Black Twill Pants // These black pants go with literally everything. Plus they’re super stretchy (necessary when indulging in vacation food).

Thermal Waffle Tunic // An essential tunic that comes in 7 colors! Great for layering.

Cashmere Scarf // Softest scarf ever. Perfect for plane rides, and for making cozy outfits even cozier!

Sam Edelman Booties // Comfortable leather booties for walking and traveling!

Patagonia Fleece Vest // Another Patagonia vest I love! The fleece material keeps you plenty warm, even in cool, brisk weather.

Beanie // A simple, no nonsense beanie to take on our outdoor adventures.

Leather Wedge Bootie // Another pair of booties that are great for walking. I have the brown leather pair!

Patagonia Retro Pile Pullover // A pullover version of my favorite Patagonia vest from this post.

Patagonia Waffle Henley // We’re going to be doing some more outdoorsy activities this trip, so I brought these henleys along to keep me comfortable.

Color Block Beanie // Of course I had to bring a cute beanie, too! This chunky knit, color block style has my name written all over it.

Be sure to check back soon for more on our trip through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine! I’ll be sharing complete travel guides soon, but until then, be sure to follow along with my Instagram stories.
