I love our home and the hardwood floors, but I don’t love cold feet. Doesn’t matter what season it is, I wear house shoes. We have shoes that stay in the mudroom for taking the dog out in the morning and then house shoes that we wear in the mornings. I’ve passed that habit on to the girls as they always want “bedroom shoes.†Instead of buying expensive shoes, they’ll grow out of, I can find some great options at DSW.
Koolaburra Boots for House Shoes
We love buying Koolaburra at DSW because they are a more affordable option for Uggs. I always buy a size up and my girls are able to wear them from fall through spring. They wear them around the house and have another pair (yes, we love them that much) for walking the dog. Typically we buy a new pair in the fall and they can still wear last year’s pair for playing outside. They are undoubtedly their favorite shoes to throw on in winter and pretty much the only shoes they wear other than sneakers and snow boots. Ok fine, the Koolaburras are definitely more than “house shoes†but honestly we get our money’s worth out of these.
I also got a pair of the Koolaburras at DSW and wear them all the time. They’re cozy, still have a hard sole if I need to chase the girls or Charlie outside and are easy to slip on with the little heel loop.

When the girls aren’t wearing house shoes they love their Crocs and Nikes. I like that DSW also carries Vans, Converse, Sperry, Sorrel and Steve Madden. I usually shop for shoes once per year for the girls so DSW makes it easy carrying so many brands.
